Lt Col P W Armstrong OLM  

Commissioned into the RLI in 1967 and posted as Troop Commander to 2 Commando. After a stint as an instructor at Tactical Wing, the School of Infantry, he returned to the RLI as Adjutant. Promoted Major, he commanded Support Commando before attending staff course and a stint at Army HQ. He returned as battalion 2IC at the end of 1978. In September 1979 he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and took command of the Selous Scouts. He ended his career at Army HQ and left the army in 1980.

He joined the financial services industry in South Africa until 2008. In 2009 he set up a management and leadership consulting business, focusing on leadership and management planning and execution, using mainly military models and principles as business case-studies.
